Documentary Campus: Applications open for Final Pitching Session 2009

Documentary Campus is inviting past participants and ambitious newcomers to apply for the 2009 Final Pitching Session, where 110 successful applicants will be given the chance to pitch their documentary projects to international commissioning editors and distributors.

During training sessions, Documentary Campus will deal with the requirements and developments in the international documentary market and explore new approaches to non-fiction filmmaking. The international training sessions will deal with financing, production, distribution, marketing, aesthetics and new technologies. The sessions also explore the various features of different genres. 


By giving case studies, presentations and panel discussions, leading experts in documentary filmmaking will provide an insight into their working methods and present strategies for establishing oneself in the international non-fiction market. The Open Training Sessions cover a broad range of fields crucial to independent filmmakers, producers and the media industry, and offer excellent networking opportunities. 


Approximately 50 international commissioning editors and distributors will be present at the Final Pitching Session, and documentary projects developed at the Documentary Campus Masterschool 2009 will be presented.
The deadline for applications is 18 October 2009 and the session will be held in Leipzig, Germany from 24-25 October 2009.
