A documentry titled 'Dolly and the Inkspots' is to be screened on Tue 2 Dec 18:30 - at the Barbican(London) as part of the 'London African Film Festival' 29th Nov.- 7th Dec.2008."One of the most dynamic singing combinations to emerge in the 1950s was Dolly Rathebe and the African Inkspots. The toast of Sophiatown, they got star billing in shows around the country and appeared in a number of feature films. Schadeberg’s documentary is an intimate tribute by one of Drum’s foremost photographers to these jazz legends who made such a valuable contribution to South Africa’s musical heritage, and whose voices are as enduring and resonant today as they were fifty years ago."
